I recently came across Grant Cardone’s “Be Obsessed or Be Average” and it really changed my perspective on a lot of things. Here is where I talk about everything I learned from the book, and what you can take away from it too!
So, this book talks a lot about, you guessed it, obsession. Cardone discusses all things related to obsession in this novel. He explores what it means to him, how it changed his life, and how to channel this obsession and passion in all business fields, such as and including managing, training, hiring and firing, selling, community building, and more.
Today though, we’re going to focus on becoming obsessed with paid advertisements and how to make these work for you. Cardone says, “be willing to risk waste to grow,” which is an important lesson. What it means is that you have to be passionate enough about what you’re selling to waste some resources for it. Only then will you be able to get enough returns in the future.
Cardone discusses how he has never regretted spending any funds or cash on paid advertising. He says that the only way to get the ROI you need is to spend enough money to ensure that one of your strategies works eventually. And it will.
I fully believe in Cardone’s philosophy.
I started with going in on paid advertisements and I vowed to outspend all the rivals, regardless of how bad the “numbers” were initially. I was going to win by brute force if not by finesse. And it worked, believe it or not! I mean you should believe it because our website went down because of orders. We were everywhere, no matter where you looked. We made so many impressions that we got word out to everyone!
So here’s what I’m trying to say: don’t be afraid to ‘waste’ dollars on paid advertising. You will not go wrong. As long as you’re making sufficient impressions on your target audience, and you’re doing it over and over, you will start to see great results. There is no waste if you’re obsessed with the right things.
And even if you don’t end up reading the book cover to cover, I want you to remember this important lesson. If you don’t stay obsessed, you will end up losing that X factor. And then you will be just like all of the average Joes out there. That’s not what you want, is it? No! So keep this in the back of your head.
Organic sales are great, but obsessive and repeated paid advertisements is where it’s at!
