Job Killing Review: Can Dan Klein’s Lead Generation Program Help You Make Money?

You have probably heard about Dan Klein’s Job Killing and you are wondering if the program is legit, and if it can help you make money. If this is you, then you want to read my Job Killing review to the end.

In this review, I’m going to show you what the program is about, its cost and other important details that you require to make an informed decision.

Unlike many reviews out there, I’m not affiliated with the program. I’ve created this review out of the necessity to guide people who might be considering enrolling for the program on what to expect if they eventually decided to opt for it.

Making money may not be a walk in the park, but it shouldn’t necessarily be a difficult task if you have the right guide to work with and a mentor.

That said, the big question is, can Job Killing help you make money, and attain financial freedom as you might have read from some program affiliates?

You will find out about that soon, but before then…

What Is Job Killing?

  • job loss killerJob Killing is a training and coaching program on how to start your own online business and make money through lead generation. The course teaches you how to build your own website and use the website to provide leads (potential customers) for local businesses.
  • The idea behind the program is to teach you how you can rank your websites and rent them out to small businesses. That way, you own your digital asset (website) and you can easily relocate it to another business if a client terminates their deal with you.

Sounds exciting? Isn’t it?

Well, I’ve got a lot to say about this business model. Keep reading to learn more about the program as I dispassionately unpack the course layer by layer.

Meet The Brains Behind the Job Killing

In 2014, Dan Klein and Brad Campbell went into a partnership to create a business model that would help local businesses generate more sales. While the idea was solely Dan’s, he brought Brad onboard mainly because of the latter’s strong copywriting skill, and his widely visited blog (lazymlm.com) which was needed to promote the fledgling idea. The program was massively promoted and people started enrolling for the course.

As mentioned earlier, the idea behind the program is to teach students how to build their website and use it as a medium of generating free leads that you send to small businesses. Put simply, they’re teaching you how to use SEO (search engine optimization) techniques to attract organic traffic to your website and channel the leads to your client.

You put your number on the website. When a potential customer calls, you redirected the call to your client. The business pays you after the customer has patronized them.

Dan is a born salesperson with profound track records of personal successes in many of his known online business ventures. He’s been able to attract countless praises to himself and his business since his Job Killing was launched in 2014.

Less than five years down the lane, nothing is heard of Brad anymore. And his sudden alienation from the program cannot be any unconnected with the controversy that rocked the program. A former student of the course wrote a compendious review article titled:

“Why I Quit Job Killing, Lead Gen Rental, Rank And Rent and Lead Generation All Together!”

  • This article dragged Job Killing into a deep controversy. Although a disclaimer later came out saying the guy was actually kicked out contrary to his account that he quit. Either ways, there are some former students who have expressed their frustration about not getting results.

Essentially, they all complained about the fact that Dan's method of generating free leads (SEO) takes much time and the enormity of upfront investment you will have to make building your website and ranking it to the point where it can begin to get you traffic.

Does Job Killing Work?

The entire program can be summarized this way:

  • Do your due diligence to discover a suitable niche, build a website and start ranking the website on Google. Once you are able to rank the site on the first page of Google (the juicy spot that guarantees steady traffic), it begins to attract visitors who you convert to leads and then funnel them to your client.

How To Get Started

  • To become a member, you will be asked to fill out an application form. After that you will be scheduled to have a “strategy session” with a representative of the program to determine if you are a good fit for the course. If you are selected, you will proceed to making payment.
  • Mind you, the strategy session isn’t anything to fret about. It’s basically to determine how serious and ready you are to join the course. It was nevertheless used to create some sort of impression that the course isn’t meant for everybody.

But I doubt if anyone has ever got rejected with their cash.

So How Much Does The Job Killing Program Cost?

According to some former students of the program, the Job Killing cost them between $4, 860 – $8, 778 depending on the amount you paid up front. One thing is, you cannot find the exact price anywhere on their website.

But the cost doesn’t end there. In addition to the enrollment fee, you will spend money to get your website up and running. Job Killing encourages their students to use Weebly hosting and domain which costs around $25 a month per article.

Also, you subscribe to the call tracking service known as Callrail at the monthly subscription fee of $45-$145 per month. There is a plan (Callsling) for a one-time fee of $496. Please note that this service only works in specific regions of the world.

In addition, you will need to subscribe for Email autoresponder to track your leads. This will cost you anywhere around $20 per month.

To boost your site performance (SEO-wise), you will need a number of tools as recommended by Dan. For example, students are encouraged to use SpyFu or Ahrefs for competitor keyword research which cost $33 – $199 and $99 respectively per month.

Although the program is founded on the basis of generating organic or free traffic, it doesn’t disregard the superiority of using PPC (pay per click) ads to fast-track web traffic. Students have the option of using PPC platforms like Facebook or Google to boost traffic to their sites.

Job Killing: Is It Legit or Just Another Scam?

  • job killing scamI don’t think the course is a scam. After all, there are many people who claimed to have made money using the strategies they learned from the program.
  • However, there are also a considerable number of people who have shared their stories of disappointment and frustration about the program.BU
  • I can understand the feelings of those that didn’t get results. It’s obviously not a sweet experience when you got less or nothing after spending thousands of dollars to buy a course in addition to other costs incurred building  lead gen sites.

The cost can even pile up higher when you factor the money you will spend on SEO tools and content creation (if you’re not good writer or you are simply too busy to write).

I started out as a part-time online entrepreneur in 2006 helping clients to rank their sites. The pay was quite encouraging. The extra cash on the side was a significant addition to my regular 9-5 job. In fact, I was making around $20-25k a month at one point…. well I am doing that again 😉

Unfortunately, the cash inflow only lasted for a few months. The reason wasn’t because I didn’t know how to rank websites anymore. It was simply because SEO TAKES TIME and the first page isn’t always guaranteed. So it is normal for some people to quit along the line if results are not forthcoming as quickly as they had hoped.

If you’re looking for a fast, easy and sustainable way to make money, I doubt if Job Killing is the best course to help you achieve your goal.

In addition to thousands of dollars you pay as enrollment fee and other related costs, SEO takes time. Ranking your website based on what you will be taught in the course isn’t enough, and does not necessarily guarantee your result. Google will test your expertise and patience with the frequent updates they roll out.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of The Course?

Do I Recommend The Course?

The truth is, the Job Killing looks legit, and it seems to have helped some people to start their online lead generation business. If you have close to $10K to get started with the program and can play the long game of waiting for months before getting results, then you may join the program.

However, I wouldn’t recommend the program for you if you’re someone seeking a fast, easy and consistent source of income.
